Provost's Grand Challenges Research Strategies Team

Members of the Provost’s Grand Challenges Research Strategies Team

Background on the Grand Challenges Research Process | Next Steps and GC Exploratory Research Grants

Convened by Provost Hanson early in 2015, the Grand Challenges Research Strategies Team brought together 30 distinguished faculty members and thoughtful University citizens, with Professor Raymond Duvall as the chair and senior staff support from the provost's office. The team was charged with consulting broadly with the faculty and campus community to identify areas of exceptional crossdisciplinary research strength team that would advance the research goals of the strategic plan. In addition to recommending Grand Challenges the University could fruitfully embrace as a campus (aligned with specific criteria in the Strategic Plan), the team's charge also included identifying key strategies to strengthen interdisciplinary research across the University.
