Strategic Planning Process Begins Phase 2

In recent presentations to the regents and to the campus community, Provost Karen Hanson gave an overview of the outline plan developed by the campuswide work group during Phase 1 of the strategic planning process.

Vision
The University of Minnesota—Twin Cities will be preeminent in solving the grand challenges of a diverse and changing world

Goals That Support Our Vision
  • Build an exceptional University where grand societal challenges are addressed.  More >
  • Support excellence and, with intention, reject complacency.  More >
  • Establish a culture of reciprocal engagement, capitalizing on our unique location.  More >
  • Aggressively recruit, retain, and promote field-shaping researchers and teachers.  More >

Phase 2 of the process is now under way. Five newly formed work groups ("issue teams") are mapping issues and potential action steps for each goal (two teams are addressing the grand challenges goal area, one focusing on research and one on curriculum).
